SHI signed a joint development project (JDP) with ABS in July 22 to establish a methodology for calculating Scope 3 emissions, calculate Scope 3 emissions in 2021, and complete third-party verification

In March 2023, SHI signed a `Joint Development Project Agreement for Standardization of Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculation` with KSOE, Hanwha Ocean, ABS, and KR.

SHI calculated Scope 3 emissions in 2022 based on the methodology currently being established by Korean shipbuilders (as of May 23), and out of the nine categories calculated, `sold products`, which account for the majority of emissions, accounted for 4 categories. Announced that SHI methodology was adopted.

Since KSOE and Hanwha Ocean have already established their own methodology, SHI said that it expects that it will be able to develop it into a global shipbuilding industry standard in the future by adopting the advantages of each company`s methodology.
